HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL
WORK?
The technology works by destroying the hair follicles using a mix of light and heat energy from the Candela laser. The intense quick pulse of heat damages the main blood supply to each hair follicle causing the hair to shed. New hair growth is, therefore, slower and, towards the end of the course non existent.

Contact me to book you in for a initial consultation. As well as completing a medical questionnaire, I will need to try the treatment on a small area of your skin to check for adverse reactions. I will then be able to make a personlised treatment plan just for you.

HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED TO COME?
Typically, you will have an initial course of 6-12 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart (depending on area). After this I will review your progress.

HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?
Anything from 6 to 10 sessions, with maintenance sessions for some on top.
Hair grows differently on all of us and its thickness and growth rate varies from person to person. Then there are many other factors, such as hormonal issues like PCOS, which influence hair growth.

DOES IT HURT?
The best way to describe it is it feels like an elastic band snap! I use a cooling device during the treatment which helps to minimse any discomfort.
HOW LONG DO I NEED TO WAIT IN BETWEEN APPOINTMENTS?
Depending on your hair and skin type and the area being treated, you will usually require treatments at 4-6 week intervals. Each part of the body has a different hair growth cycle, so the hair loss will vary depending on what phase your follicles are in at the time of treatment.
WHICH MACHINE DO YOU USE?
I use the medical-grade Candela GentleMax Pro, the gold standard in laser hair removal technology, to provide the best treatment results. A cooling machine is used in all laser treatments to cool your skin during treatment to minimise any discomfort.
CAN I HAVE THE TREATMENT IF I AM PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?

I do not treat pregnant or breastfeeding women.
WHAT CAN I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT?

Shave treatment area at least 12-24 hours prior to your treatment
Avoid using topical creams, moisturisers or perfumes on the area being treated before the appointment
Avoid chemical peels or laser resurfacing treatments at least 4 weeks before your treatment
Avoid excessive sun exposure on the area being treated two weeks prior (including solariums or tanning drugs)
Do not wax, use depilatory creams or pluck hairs four weeks prior to or during laser treatment
Stop using active ingredients (like retinol) 2 weeks before treatment
IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PERMANENT?
The more consistent you are with your treatments, the more chance there is of disturbing the hair follicle, causing permanent hair reduction. It is important to keep up your appointments in order to be able to target the hair whilst in the
stage of hair growth.
WHAT IS THE AFTERCARE ADVICE?
SPF every day - always!
Avoid hot baths/showers/steam rooms/sauna and similar heat sources for 48 hours
No direct sun exposure or tanning beds for 2 weeks
Skin may feel itchy and there may be some redness - you can use an emollient cream or aloe vera gel
